Dang, the first notes and words of the Shuggie Otis song, “Strawberry Letter 23” take me back to a carefree world of bubbles, fluffy clouds, unicorns, and pink ponies. When I first tasted this effervescent, pleasingly sweet libation, I thought of strawberries, whipped cream and the pleasure that comes from biting into a springy, slightly sweet cake that bounces back with every flight.
If fresh strawberries are not in season, replace with pure strawberry powder mixed into the cream for a blow-your-mind taste sensation. When delicious, juicy strawberries come into season, use both. You’ll be dancing and swaying to this song in your head.
