Born and raised in Amman, Jordan, Chef Khaled brings the flavors and traditions of his homeland to the table, with a little Southern influence and plenty of open-fire cooking along the way.
Calliope has quickly become one of Chattanooga’s culinary standouts. Chef Khaled was recently named a 2026 James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef: Southeast, while Calliope was recognized by Food & Wine as one of the Best New Restaurants in 2022 and by The New York Times as one of the Top 50 Restaurants in the U.S. in 2025.
