Grilled Steak

Recipe Date: February 6, 2010
Difficulty: Easy
Measurements: Imperial (US)

Grilled bone in or bone out, a nice juicy steak is the perfect accompaniment for the golden fries. For an added burst of flavor, top the hot steak with the herb butter of your choice. The butters are also delicious slathered over grilled Portobello mushrooms for a vegetarian option. Serves 4 to 6

Ingredients

  • Rib steaks, cut 1½ inches thick or 2 whole Bavette or Hanger steaks
  • Kosher or sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Directions

1. Heat the grill to medium high heat.

2. Season the steaks well with salt and pepper on both sides. Grill 7-8 minutes per side for the rib steak and a little bit longer, about 8 to 10 minutes, for the whole steaks if they are thicker.

3. Top with the butter of your choice immediately after removing the steaks from the grill. Let the steaks rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
