The Chicken and the Egg
Alexis & Eric Koefoed, Soul Food Farm
Know your food! Farmers and artisan producers have finally stepped into the spotlight, no longer faceless purveyors of the foods we crave. We now seek them out, inspired by their dedication to organic, handcrafted, traditional foodways of purity and distinctiveness.
RSV salutes the efforts of our local food heroes with a series of intimate dinners, putting you face to face and fork to mouth with some of the Bay Area’s finest. These local celebrities will talk about the challenges and triumphs of producing carefully grown or crafted comestibles and getting them to market, as well as current food issues in the US. Special five course dinners featuring the farmers, producers and the fruits of their labor, will be co-hosted by Rob and Maria Sinskey and paired with RSV’s cuisine oriented wines. Also included, a take home market bag with recipes and treats from featured guests.
Soul Food Farm raises pastured chickens for both eggs and meat. The Soul Food folks turn sunlight, grass, bugs and high-quality domestic feed into animals that live in a healthy and humane environment — free to roam in fresh air and peck and take dust baths — the birds, in return, provide delicious and healthy food for us. The folks at Soul Food Farm are driven by the belief that “You are what you eat… and what you eat, eats.” It informs everything from the way they manage the birds’ health and the general care of the farm. All these “inputs” and much more result in eggs and chicken that will elevate your cooking and eating experience each time.

Find out why RSV was named Sunset magazine’s tasting room of the year and the Wine Spectator featured it as a must visit winery in Napa Valley. But don’t take their word for it, come see it yourself. Great wine is about good food and good people. You will find all that and more at RSV.
